Thanks to Dan Durbin and the Madison Fishing Expo we will have a booth at this event! All of our gear will be available for sale and information on the programs we run to get our youth involved in the sport of fishing. Please come see us this year as we answer your questions from the beginner to the expert to get you on the water and catching fish.
Our 4th Annual Ice Fishing Jamboree will once again be held at the Reefpoint Resort on Pike Lake in Hartford, WI. Feb. 9th we will have open registration from 6:30am until 10:30 am for the tournament with a $10 entry fee and a ticket for the prize giveaways being held throughout the day. From 10am-11:30am we will be holding our free kids clinic with a great prize giveaway bag for the participating kids. The tournament will pay out for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the Pike, Walleye, Bass and panfish categories. Raffle tickets are available at the Reefpoint for the beginner fishing package and also for the cash raffle. Food will be served on the ice from 10:30 until 2:30 and the Reefpoint bar will be fully staffed for all of your beverages. Come out and join us at The Reel Shot in Appleton for a seminar on ice fishing. We will talk about Fishing for the Heart and our mission to get our kids back into the outdoors. One of the best and the biggest bodies of water to fish is the Lake Winnebago chain, learn how to locate fish and what baits to use. The Bluegill is one of my favorite fish to chase during the ice fishing season. How to not only find the bigger bluegill but ways to get them to bite even when they are not actively feeding. We will discuss all the tactics to use when ice fishing for all species of fish and what we use to be successful on the ice.
At Fishing for the Heart we have decided to hold monthly fishing get togethers for families and kids that want to learn more about fishing. December 12th at the (Valley Rod and Gun Club headquarters W292 N8191 Camp Whitcomb Rd, Hartland, WI 53089) we will be holding our first ‘Get to Learn’ fishing event. Every month we will be talking about different ways to be successful on the water with tips and strategies which have been proven to work.
